On-Island Operator, Team Doctor, 4-Square Antennas
Hans was born 1939 and is married with two children. He did an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic. Then he worked for 30 years in the airline industry as an aircraft mechanic and flight engineer.
He has been licensed as a radio amateur since 1976 with a general class ticket. His favorite operating modes are CW and SSB. Hans has been involved in more than 100 contests on HF, VHF and UHF.
His hobbies beside amateur radio are mountaineering and botany.
Previously Hans was also a part of VKØIR in 1997. As a member of the Swiss DX Foundation (SDXF), he is interested in DXing, expeditions, IOTA and http://www.sota.org.uk/Summits on the Air (SOTA)

 According to the "World Lighthouse On The Air" Program, there is a lighthouse on Côn Có Island that is valid for WLOTA awards. We have been informed that QSOs with 3W6C will be valid for WLOTA #2557 after receipt of validation. Read more on the WLOTA program on their web site. |
