HB9DKZ/HSØZBT • Hans-Juerg Voegeli
On-Island Operator, Spiderbeams, 4-Square Antennas
Born in 1947, Hans-Juerg was apprenticed as a technician in pharmaceutical research in Basel. Starting in 1972 he worked as a senior technician in flavor and fragrance research in a company near Zurich.
He was a SWL as HE9HIJ starting in 1970 and was licensed as a ham in 1989 as HB9DKZ. Hans-Juerg is active mostly on phone and is a contester on VHF/UHF as a member of the Swiss Säntis Crew (with HB9BHW).
For several years, Hans-Juerg has participated in the South East Asia Network of Radio Amateurs (SEANET), is a lifetime member of the Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST), is a member of USKA's club in Winterthur and was an operator at HSØAC, HS5ØA (Koh Chang, IOTA AS-125) and E29AL (Koh Tarutao, AS-126).
Retired since July 1, 2009, he now has a bit more time for chasing new ones and collecting stamps.

 According to the "World Lighthouse On The Air" Program, there is a lighthouse on Côn Có Island that is valid for WLOTA awards. We have been informed that QSOs with 3W6C will be valid for WLOTA #2557 after receipt of validation. Read more on the WLOTA program on their web site. |
