HB9PJT • Peter Sidler
On-Island Operator, Computers, Logging
Peter was born in 1959 and is married to Monika. They have two daughters (Tamara and Sabrina) and a son (Fabian). He was educated as an electronic engineer. Previously employed as a product manager for electronic components and as a sales director in a software company, today Peter works in his own IT firm which provides business-management software solutions, systems and networking for small- and medium-sized companies
Licensed in 1978, Peter enjoys DXing and SSB contesting on the HF and VHF/UHF bands. Besides doing amateur radio in his shack at home, he enjoys making contacts with his HF mobile station and operating in the field. He was active as V5/HB9PJT and HB9PJT/C6A. Peter also enjoys homebrewing amateur radio equipment and antennas.
He is member of the Union of Swiss Shortwave Amateurs (USKA) and the president of the Zug branch club of USKA. He is also a member of the ARRL and RSGB.

 According to the "World Lighthouse On The Air" Program, there is a lighthouse on Côn Có Island that is valid for WLOTA awards. We have been informed that QSOs with 3W6C will be valid for WLOTA #2557 after receipt of validation. Read more on the WLOTA program on their web site. |
